Background Dr. Imide, Israel Onokero was born in Ovu about 58 years ago to the family of chief & Mrs Imide Oghojafor of Ovu inland in Ethiope local government area of Delta state. He is a senior lecturer in department of economics in the University of Delta. Dr. Attended Army children school, Rainbow town PH, RCM School, Ovu inland where he obtained his primary school leaving certificate. Dr. Imide later went to Ovu grammar school, Ovu inland for his secondary education. Dr. Imide obtained his B.sc (Ed) Economics, M.sc Economics, Diploma in Computer science and PhD Economics from Bendel State University, Ekpoma, Delta State University, Abraka, College of education, Agbor and Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma respectively. He specializes in Development, monetary and international economics. Dr. Imide started his academic career as assistant lecturer at the defunct college of education, Agbor in 1993. Dr. Imide rose through the ranks to the position of a Reader (chief lecturer) in 2011. Dr. Imide have head various academic and a administrative position since his over 30 years sojourn as an academic. He is an external examiner and external assessor to many institutions. Dr. Imide was on sabbatical leave at the college of education, Warri and the Nigeria Maritime University, Okerekoko, Delta state in 2005 and 2018 respectfully. Dr. Imide is presently the Provost chief executive at the Delta state college of education, Mosogar. Dr. Imide was not just an academic but also a renowned consultant who have successfully participated in over 30 environmental impact assessment (EIA) studies both within and outside the Niger delta region of Nigeria. Dr Imide is a prolific writer with well over 35 international and national/ local journal publications to his credit. He have authored, coauthored, and contributed chapters in several academic textbooks .Dr. Imide have participated in several accreditation exercise of national commission of colleges of education, NCCE. As the provost of COE, Mosogar, Dr. Imide have successfully coordinated and obtained full NUC accreditations of all the degree programs of the institution. He is a member of several professional body including, Nigeria economic society (NES) and Nigeria institute of management (NIM).H e is a member of Rotary International. He is correctly the president Ovu grammar school old students association worldwide.
