Background Uwaifo Emmanuel Chukwuekwu is a native of Otolokpo in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State. He attended Igumbor Otiku Primary School , Agbor in the Old Bendel State (now Delta State) from 1980 to 1986 where he obtained the First School Leaving Certificate. He proceeded to Ogbemudien mixed secondary school, Agbor where he had his junior secondary education and then to Ika Grammar School, Owa in Delta State for his senior secondary education between 1990 and 1992 and passed out in flying colors.
Between 1996 and 2000, he was at the Delta State University, Abraka and graduated with a Second Class Honors (lower Division) in Economics . He did the mandatory one year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Program in Government day secondary school, Toro, Bauchi state in the year 2002/2003. Between the year 2005 and 2007, he was at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and was awarded a Master's degree in Economics in 2007. He also obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) with upper credit from the University of Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt in 2014.
Uwaifo Emmanuel Chukwuekwu joined the services of College of Education, Agbor (now University of Delta) Delta State in 2003 as a teacher in the staff model secondary school and later moved to the department of Economics of the institution as a Lecturer III and rose through the ranks to the position of Principal Lecturer in July 2021. He taught Micro Economics, Macro Economics, Monetary economics, mathematical economics, labour economics, and statistics in both the NCE and Degree Programs of the College. He served as sub dean (students’ affairs), exam officer of the department of economics, Member College ornamental and landscape committee, member result verification committee, member attendance to lectures’ committee, result computation officer and member of the college examination monitoring committee. He was the last Head of Department (H.O.D) of the department of Economics in the defunct College of Education. Uwaifo Emmanuel Chukwuekwu is presently a Lecturer I staff of the University of Delta, Agbor.
Uwaifo Emmanuel Chukwuekwu has co-authored several books and published articles in both local and international journals and presented papers at both academic and professional conferences. He is currently a Ph.D student at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka where he is specializing in Fiscal and Monetary economics. Uwaifo Emmanuel Chukwuekwu is happily married with 2 boys. He enjoys reading, walking and travelling.
